Project Manager (Education Studio)- Monterey, CA
Wald, Ruhnke & Dost Architects, LLP is looking for a
dynamic, energetic, competent, and professional Project Manager to join our
busy and exciting architectural firm.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Manage projects from the schematic/design development phase to the
production of construction documents and specifications for small to
moderate size projects. Provide construction administration services to
include attending regularly scheduled construction meetings, reviewing and
responding to RFI's, and reviewing submittals. Build and maintain client
relationships to include, scheduling and meeting with clients, managing
client expectations, and ensuring overall client satisfaction. Provide work
direction to Job Captains, Intern Architects and CAD Technicians regarding
project schedule, task assignment, and technical support. Coordinate
resources and consultants and monitor project schedule and budget to ensure
projects are on schedule and within budget.
Minimum
Requirements:
Bachelor degree in Architecture or related field and 4 years related work
experience. Or 10 years related work experience. Related work experience
should consist of experience with managing residential/commercial/education
projects, developing production and construction documents and
specifications, and experience using AutoCAD in an Architectural
environment. 2 years experience supervising a staff. Must be team oriented
with demonstrated ability to foster positive relationships. Working
knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Intermediate proficiency in the use of a CAD system. Advanced knowledge of
California building codes. Knowledge of the procedures necessary to process
contract documents through various city, county, and state agencies.
Demonstrated understanding of technical, building code, and project
coordination issues. This includes the ability to coordinate resources such
as staff and consultants. Demonstrated knowledge of construction methods and
materials affecting architectural design; fundamentals of structural,
mechanical, electrical, and civil engineering as they relate to
architectural design. Demonstrated understanding of how to obtain planning
and building department approvals.
Preferred:
Bachelor degree in Architecture or related field and licensed Architect in
California. Government agency and considerable school/DSA experience
strongly preferred.
